This is a very nice expresionist piece. I really enjoy the composition and I think it sits well. Only "itch" I have is with the upper left corner, the solo figure with lots of room and space. The reason it's an itch is not because of composition, but because of the title. That one figure doesn't seem to fit the title, though the rest of the picuture does. But it fits the composition perfectly, so it's really nothing to worry about.
I would almost like this piece better without a title. Then the viewer would be able to take their own ides away from the painting. It's almost confined by it's name. It's a very emotional piece nonetheless. I like the gradations of white, and the different textures. What was this painted on? Heavy pastel paper or something else? Nice work.

If you can't have a sense of humor about your own genre, then why bother participating in it?
Yeah, I understand how titles can slighty ruin the viewer's thought about what they think the painting means. Hell, when my mom told me what she thought one of my paintings looked liked before I titled it, I couldn't get his image out of my head. So I titled it what she thought it looked liked. That really annoyed me too, because it was my painting.
But the feeling of crowd anxiety was coming over me that day (I can't remember what the event was, but I remember feeling it the day I made the painting) so that's what I decided to call it.
It was painted on a standard canvas, but I put lots of heavy acrylic on for the bottom layer, waited for that to dry, then used oil pastels and splattered watered down acrylic on top of that.

Yes, anime artists, I'm talking to you.
